Worse Than Trump: The American Plantation
Worse Than Trump explores the pitfalls of contemporary activism, Black Nationalism, racism in the Democratic Party and describes in detail the author’s experiences of the Baltimore Uprising in 2015. Black people must begin to look for freedom beyond the exploitative relationship they have with liberals and the political Left, and Worse Than Trump provides them with a way to do that. Written from the perspective of a grassroots political advocate in Baltimore City, who is the director of public policy of Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle, Worse Than Trump is a must-read for anyone looking to break free of the norm and forge a new and independent path forward.

“Dayvon Love’s Worse Than Trump: The American Plantation is an important book that is long overdue. It is rare that an analysis of contemporary political thinking includes Black nationalism’s historic role in shaping thought and movements within the African world. It is also rare that an author shows how European theories, firmly anchored in white supremacy, discourage the expression of Black nationalism among Africans by tacitly supporting Black scholars who argue for more “racially inclusive” to oppressive systems. Love’s book liberates Black nationalism and pan-Africanism from the white gaze and sees them both as necessary in the final liberation of Africans in the diaspora. This is must read for anyone who claims to be working for the interests of the global African community. Read it, study it, and then encourage others to do likewise.”
