“Dayvon Love’s Worse Than Trump: The American Plantation is an important book that is long overdue. It is rare that an analysis of contemporary political thinking includes Black nationalism’s historic role in shaping thought and movements within the African world. It is also rare that an author shows how European theories, firmly anchored in white supremacy, discourage the expression of Black nationalism among Africans by tacitly supporting Black scholars who argue for more “racially inclusive” to oppressive systems. Love’s book liberates Black nationalism and pan-Africanism from the white gaze and sees them both as necessary in the final liberation of Africans in the diaspora. This is must read for anyone who claims to be working for the interests of the global African community. Read it, study it, and then encourage others to do likewise.”
