The Issue
House Bill 59 would create an expedited legal process to remove people from homes that are listed for sale or lease. Under the bill, courts would be required to hold hearings within five days, issue a ruling within two business days, and allow only two business days to file an appeal. If the court rules in favor of the complainant, the sheriff must execute a warrant to remove occupants within 24 hours. HB59.
In practice, this means families could be forced out of their homes in a matter of days

Housing policy should prioritize stability and due process, not speed.
