Join us for our February Malcolm X Talk!
For several years, Black artists and creators have tried to create a Black Arts District in Baltimore. While these efforts have been met with multiple challenges, arts districts around Baltmore have flourished with a bevy of public and private investment.
Cultural Curator, Lady Brion will discuss the history of arts districts in Baltimore and propose a plan for Baltimore to create its first explicitly Black Arts District.
She will be giving a brief talk about the impact that Black artists have had on the city as well as reporting about her role on the Mayor’s Safe Arts Space Taskforce and how it can be used to set a new path for the Baltimore arts scene.
This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
